Bauble before the Book!

Two weeks ago I went to Tescos and found in the kids section a kit. Make your own tree decorations. Inside were two ceramic baubles and some paints.

I ditched the paints and gave one away, leaving me with one bauble to play with myself. The other one sadly ended up in lots of pieces on the floor. Lesson to learn - baubles don't bounce!

I painted it with Dauber paint in pearl white. I then added some silver ink here and there. I attached a row of silver snowflakes round the middle and bent the fronds to give it some depth. I added Swarvoski crystals to the centres of these in khaki and opal white.

With effort I added some jewellery wire through the botton to create a loop. I added a stirling silver jump ring and S/S tassle. (My SIL has been coverting this for ages and will be shocked when she sees it on my tree!)

To the top I added some tiara jewels round the thread hole and finally some khahi suede to hang it with.

Personally I love this!I guess I am a bit of a Christmas girl though. I had the idea before I bought the book, but equally there are some lovely ones in there too.

I predict a rush on clear glass and plastic baubles for scrappers everywhere this year!
