Christmas Banner

As my lovely SIL was doing my housework today - I was banished to the hall whilst the wooden floors were drying. I happened to glance through Joy - the Making Memories Christmas Decorations book.

I used some of my November Gogo Create kit to make a pink themed Christmas banner that looks cool and hangs like a dream!

Anyway, here is how I did it.....

I took a piece of 12 x 12 and cut it in half.
I then cut each half into 3 pieces 4" in width.
I wanted to use the word PEACE so I only used five pieces - one for each letter. You can clearly make more or less!!

I then scored a line 2cm from the top and folded this over to create a tab at the top.
I marked at the opposite end the mid point - 2". I then cut each piece into a triangle so it resembled the shape of bunting.
I trimmed the top flap of the tab in line with the sides of the triangles.

I got a long piece of ribbon and made a loop at each end. I did this by turning the loop and fixing it into position with a large brad from the kit.

I left some space to allow for hang and then added the triangles. I placed them face down, held the ribbon along the crease inside the tab and stuck it together with sticky back tape. I left a small space in between each one about 1/2".

Once all traingles were attached I used pink chalk ink to define the edges.

I chose some letters from my stash. These are MM glitter letters. Again I used pink chalk ink round the edges for definition. I stuck one letter on each triangle using foam tape for added volume.

In between each triangle and at the start and end I attached some flowers to the ribbons using brads. I used some from my stash that are jewelled and that resemble pearls.

All ready to hang up fpr Christmas. I think I will make a year round one for my craft room/stdy that reads create as it looks soooo pretty!

Sorry the piccies are a bit dark - it's that time of the year when it gets dark too early!
